The decision to remove it once more seems to suggest that Infinity Ward is committed to changing the game-play and co-operative nature of the game in a way that invites a better competitive environment. This isn't the first time that the game mode has been left out of the series since its first appearance in Call of Duty: World At War, but it's still shocking given how much the community enjoys it. Sadly, Modern Warfare 3 didn't have it but Survival is the closest thing you could get to it.
In a somewhat shocking move, it appears that Activision's next change will be removing the zombie game mode. The Zombie mode has been a Treyarch addition since World at War. With the announcement that season passes wouldn't be in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, many wondered what would be next for the series. While the company was simply following a trend within the industry, many within the community felt that they were being forced to pay extra just to play a game they had already bought. After the success of Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, many fans of the Call of Duty series felt betrayed when Activision first got rid of dedicated servers and forced users to buy a season pass.
